Hello you - I'm Laura (she/her). That's me in the picture living my best life - as the big smile and scrunched up nose proves! I've been a qualified wedding celebrant since 2019 and I love every minute of it! As of November 2024 I am officially a double award winning celebrant! I won The Wedding Industry Awards 'West Midlands Wedding Celebrant Of The Year 2025' and I also won Cotswolds Weddings 'Best Celebrant In The Cotswolds' two weeks later! What a result!!
I’ve had the honour of getting to know some incredible couples and I’ve worked all over the UK (and Europe) creating dream wedding ceremonies, vow renewals and naming ceremonies. I live right on the Warwickshire / Gloucestershire border (half way between Stratford Upon Avon and The Cotswolds) with my husband Johnathan, our two gorgeous baby boys (two and a half and one!) and Betty and Barney the cockapoos! Yes, my hands are full but my heart is more full! When we got married nearly 7 years ago I knew I wanted to work in the wedding industry - being paid to be a part of one of the happiest days of people's lives - what’s not to love?! I’m not organised enough to be a planner, I’m too clumsy to be a florist and I’m rubbish at ‘angles’ so I’d be a terrible photographer! BUT what I am great at is being your biggest cheerleader, celebrating YOU and sharing your love story with all of your family and friends! Book a ceremony rehearsal - you won’t regret it!

It’s a great chance to get the gang together the day / week before the big day and gets everyone SO excited for the wedding itself! I include a rehearsal with all of my bespoke ceremonies and it just takes your ceremony to the next level ✨

A beautiful 16th Century Thatch Barn (It actually dates back to 1543!) with that gorgeous Cotswolds Charm 🫶🏼

The ceremony space at @blackwellgrange is absolutely beautiful. It is a separate barn for just your ceremony and has its own little garden perfect for confetti and group shots after you’ve tied the knot! The space is light and airy but has the traditional beams and thatch roof to give it that cosy Cotswolds feel!

There are SO many things to think about on your wedding day and yes this is a simple one but it is very easily forgotten and can make all the difference! To both the vibe, the photos and the smell of your ceremony!!

As a celebrant, this is the kind of detail that I would check beforehand, if it’s in the ceremony space it matters to me! But you could easily give this job to a friend or family member or of course your venue team, stylist or wedding planner. Just make sure you’ve asked someone to do it then you can forget about it and just enjoy that gorgeous glow and beautiful smell of scented candles when you enter the room! 💖

I never ever get over that feeling!!!

It still makes my heart race and gives me butterflies whenever I send a script because I put my everything in to it and I hope you’ll love reading it as much as I’ve loved writing it! 🤩 The amount of times I reread, rewrite and tweak bits before I press send is hilarious, it’s always SO nerve wracking! And yes most of the time it’s in my PJs last thing at night when I finally pluck up the courage to go for it!

Every script I write is different because every couple I work with is different and there truly isn’t a one size fits all. I’ll get to know you over weeks, months or even years so I can write a script that is perfectly ‘you’. 💖

Can I share a secret?

Only about 25% of the work that goes into your ceremony is on your wedding day! Behind each and every ceremony is hours and hours of preparation, research, site visits, meetings and most importantly writing!
.
We don’t just rock up to your wedding for an hour in a fancy dress and say a few words that we’ve said hundreds of times before! We put so much love and care in to making sure your ceremony script is absolutely perfect, and most of us are writing day and night - especially in peak season.
.
It’s worth every second for those beautiful ceremonies and smiles on our couples faces, and of course that is the absolute BEST bit! But it’s not all fancy outfits, canapés and blow dries. It’s hard work, research and hours of writing and rewriting your ceremony to make sure it’s perfect 👌🏼

SPOILER ALERT: you have a choice!

Celebrant ceremonies aren’t just for unlicensed venues, you can have a celebrant led ceremony anywhere! In fact most of the venues I work with also have a registrar license but they give their couples all of the options and allow them to choose #LoveOverLegalities
.
I still hear of so many couples who get told they need to book a registrar as soon as they’ve set the date and just choose from the available time slots! This needs to change!
.
As a celebrant, I don’t even offer time slots, I will save the date and the whole day is yours, you are the only couple that matter. No rushing off to get to another ceremony!
.
If you get told by anyone that you have to book a registrar, just explain that you want to consider all of the options first and see which one feels right for you! 🫶🏼
